Gold Kintsugi Collection
In creating these pieces for you, my intention is to illuminate the idea of bringing to light the scars that have come from life experiences, finding a new purpose and meaning through aging and loss, seeing love and beauty within what we would otherwise deem as imperfections. None of us are without flaws, but whether we choose to ignore those flaws or adorn them says something about the quality of our lives. Anything broken can be repaired; this is a deep meditation in my life. As an artist, I choose to make these unique works rather than editions to emphasize the value of that which cannot be replicated.
When I traveled to Vienna, one great joy was spending endless afternoons studying Gustav Klimt’s artwork. From this point on, I decided that my work would not only have a golden phase but a golden life where everything is infused with radiant, romantic intimacy and imagery, rich in both textures and meaning. We live in a kaleidoscopic world, which is truly precious, unifying, and infused with meaning.
